Construction Industry on the Rise in WNY
Aug 29th
Despite a small set-back in July, the Construction Industy in WNY is very much on the rise this year as shown in this excerpted article:
Western New York’s construction sector, which has been surging for most of the year, took a step back in July, according to a report issued Friday by McGraw-Hill Inc.
Contracts for future construction in Erie and Niagara counties totaled $141.1 million in July, down 6 percent from $150.8 million in the same month a year ago.
July’s decline was a rare drop in what has been a strong year for contractors in the Buffalo area.
Construction contracts for the first seven months of 2008 added up to $900.4 million. That’s 54 percent ahead of last year’s pace.

Meet Jeremy Wells. He’s the man! He’s probably helped to place more people in construction jobs in Buffalo than any man on earth. (for Buffalo!!). He’s been doing it now for 7 years and he’s damn good at it too. You would think that after 7 years of doing it that his style would get cramped. That he’d get into a rut or a routine, lose his edge — NO! When a guy or gal walks through the front door of CPG, Jeremy treats him or her like they’re the most important person on earth. He really cares, and that’s what makes him good. He treats people the way they want to be treated. In general, that is what you’ll find at CPGwoks. Come in for an interview and you’ll see that there is a difference. We talk to you, not AT you. We listen to YOU not our notepads and interview protocol.

CPG has a great team of recruiters. Really!! Diverse. Artistic. A little wild, crazy and stretched, but all of them really work hard to give our clients and employee/applicants, the service they want.
Nicole is a veteran of CPG. Don’t let the dreadlocks fool you. She’s just as wild as she looks. She is also a member of one of the main Buffalo all-girl roller derby team. On roller skates, killer!
Nicole has helped place hundreds and hundreds of people. She’s a real team-player. Call her anytime and she’ll help place you or if you need people for your company, more than likely Nicole will have a hand in it.
Meet’n the dudes!

Last night two ambassadors of Construction Personnel Group (names are omitted to protect the guilty), attended the annual outing put on by the Construction Exchange of WNY. It was a great outing at the Buffalo Launch Club on Grand Island and was a nice setting. We met some cool people like Vickie from Buffalo Redi-Mix, Tom from Classic Painting, Mike from Metro Environmental (who told us all about his trip to Toronto to see the Rolling Stones – not without some adventures). And others. It was a good mix, a HELL of a lot of people, and I walked away with a realization that there are a lot of really fine people in Buffalo and surrounds who are working in this industry. Oh and by the way, the steak served for dinner was AWESOME, not to mention the fudge brownies. OMG!
